The Apple Watch is a useful accessory that keeps track of your health and fitness levels. It’s a great way to measure parameters like the step counter, calories counter, heart rate, etc. You can also use several apps on the Apple Watch and even reply to notifications making it a great companion to your iPhone.
But, a lot of fitness data isn’t really useful unless you’re working out. With modern-day lifestyles getting more sedentary, it’s more important than ever to stay active. Well, your Apple Watch can help you do that. At least to a certain extent. You can share the activity on your Apple Watch with your friends and get notified each time they finish a workout.
You can also track your friends’ activity progress and compete with them to see who stays more active throughout the day. This can be a motivating factor for many to start working out. Here’s how you can share your activity on Apple Watch and compete with friends.
What Is Activity Data on Apple Watch
Your Apple Watch constantly measures your daily activities right from the number of steps walked to the hours you’ve spent sitting on a chair. The activity data is then segregated into three different rings denoting various parameters.
The ‘Move’ ring indicates the calories you’ve burnt throughout the day. The ‘Exercise’ ring denotes how long you’ve worked out on a particular day. The ‘Stand’ ring denotes how many times you’ve stood up for at least a minute every hour for 12 hours in a day.
This is what Apple refers to as Activity Rings. The goal is to close these rings every single day by staying active.
Why Should You Share Your Activity Data With Friends
If you cannot stay active and close your Activity Rings every day, sharing the data with your friends can motivate you to do so. You can compete with your friends who will close their Activity Rings the first every day. This competition can act as a motivating factor for you and your friends.
You will be notified each time one of your friends completes a workout. This can inspire you to take a break from your work and go out for a walk.
